Holá! Welcome to our trip journal. This is a collaboration from Peace College in Raleigh, NC and University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. If all things go well you will hear from the majority of us on our take on what we have seen on our 3-4 week excursion into the Yucatan. Here is the itinerary. Now remember... this is subject to change if necessary.
July 1 (Fri) Arrive in Cancun Airport .
Travel by van to Cobá.
Group Dinner and Welcome/Orientation
Lecture: Spider monkey social structure and behavior (Vick)
Overnight at Villas Arqueologicas
July 2 (Sat) Early breakfast
Explore ruinas of Cobá
Lectures onsite
Lunch at Cobá
Visit village of Punta Laguna (see village craftswomen, visit
local school, meet villagers. Visit spider monkey research
center).
Spider monkey tour. Find and watch wild spider monkeys
(have your cameras ready!!).
Depart Punta Laguna for Valladolid .
Dinner at El Meson del Marquis
Lecture: Survival Spanish (Guijarro-Crouch);
Short discussion of day’s events.
Overnight at El Meson del Marquis.
July 3 (Sun) Explore historic Centro of Valladolid .
Lunch and swim at Cenote Ikkíl.
Explore ruinas of Chichén Itzá during the afternoon.

Depart for Hacienda Yunkú.

July 4 (Mon) Relax at the hacienda!
